You may hear the game referred to as AFL, Australian Football, Aussie Rules, or simply footy, and it is the indigenous sport of Australia that has been played for over 150 years.

Footy is played by more than 1000 athletes at over 40 clubs across Canada.

The Saint John Bulldogs joined the Halifax Dockers and Sydney Giants to form AFL Atlantic in 2024, and this year we’re being joined by another new club in PEI – the Cornwall Tigers. Join us as we emBARK on this new chapter in Canadian sport.

Can I play too?

Yes! Footy is one of the best games for anybody to play. Players of all shapes and sizes are needed right a cross the field, there’s a position for everybody.

We encourage people of all ages, genders, sizes & fitness levels to come and join the Bulldogs for a session, we bet you’ll learn some new skills, and work up a sweat while you’re at it, no matter where your starting point is. Whether you’ve played back home in Australia back in the day, or just found out about the game, footy in New Brunswick is on the way up.
